Finding the One (Piece)

As the London Mice gear up for a trio of envy-inducing holidays - Ibiza, Croatia and Marrakech - this Hong Kong Mouse is trying to console herself with the fact that there are plenty of opportunities to spend weekends on boats and beaches over here without even having to leave the city. The one thing all three of us currently have in common is the search for summer's holy grail - the perfect swimsuit.

Meet Magnolia Mars. 

She puts a happy spring into my step on a regular basis because she has combines two of my most favourite things in the world - Fashion & Art.  

She's just a girl living in an illustrated world and boy what a world. Jam packed full of Oscar De La Renta, Balmain, Manolo Blahnikhq, Birkin, Marysia, Valentino ... If only you could make illustrations come to life like Penny Crayon could huh?!

Her heavenly sketches need very little talk up so to save my Mac the word count effort i'm going to let Ms.Mars take it away and wow you all...

We're delighted to say that we've all made it through another week, and now it's pretty much time to pour ourselves a glass of something frosty and alcoholic before swiftly seeing it off...

With Ibiza now within touching distance we're trying every trick in the book to become the honed beach goddesses we just know are hidden deep within us! 

Great intentions are one thing, however reality is quite another - the only way to keep on the uber-healthy straight and narrow seems to be to hibernate away from everyone and everything! 

That way you don't risk bumping into the Spitalfields Bread Ahead stall...

I have once again found myself guilty of speaking without the proper mental filtration. Unfortunately this time, rather than bragging to the dear mice that I could write a blog post for them, I spoke without thinking to a young lady, while she was talking about what music she liked (a sensitive and personal subject if there was ever one). To make matters worse, it was a young lady that I was on a date with. Error. 

This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

We made it peeps! That beautiful realisation is about to hit... 

This week has pretty much been all about keeping things clean ... bar one outing which involved hot torsos and tight buns of steel - more on that later! With the countdown to our girly Ibiza trip well and truly ON we've been trying to be the healthiest mice possible. Boring, yes but it will all be worth it in a few weeks time when we're sipping champagne at Blue Marlin! #seriousgoals

Enough boasting. Let's get to it with a rundown of This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

Biting our bottom lip at the sight of Magic Mike strutting his stripper stuff! Yes we couldn't resist a Monday girls outing to the Electric Shoreditch with our school pals Nikki and Holman. I know it's extravagant on every level for a Monday but what the hell. We dashed out of work as fast as our legs could carry us ready for two hours of hot steamy, with a smidge of cringe, indulgence ahead!!!

Well if you found Magic Mike too much to handle, you've got your work cut out with XXL! Channing Tatum is still seriously hot but at times you do feel he's a tad old to be playing the stripper game and girls who have seen it, I have a burning question - has he had work done? His face looks dubiously puffy and lacking facial movement! 

Joe Manganiello AKA God stole the show for us! That face, that body, that petrol station scene! Too much! 

Overall the film lacks narrative and realism but boy-oh-boy the hot baby oiled men more than make up for it!

Smacking our lips over Lipstick Queen's Frog Prince! That's a lipstick if you didn't know or guess BUT it's not just any old lipstick... 

First impressions on lifting the lipstick lid were ... it's green! Why the hell would I wear a green lipstick?! But upon further reflection, things aren't as they first appear ... this froggy green stick of confusion does in actual fact boast magical powers! 

When the lipstick comes into contact with your lips, its green pigments transform into a rosebud pink shade. And for those greedy goats wanting more, I can confirm that's not where the fairytale story ends. This lipstick of wonder adapts to each set of lips it comes into contact with, changing in tone to match natural colouring and pH levels. Neat huh?!

Snap it up from Space NK for £22 

Pining over Eugenia Kim's gorgeously sunny hats. Each one made from toyo paper and lovingly crafted to fit the head like a glove! Apparently the designer started out with the mission to design stylish hats to cover up a bad hair day - that's my kind of mission! She's famous amongst the street style set for her cuter than cute cat ear creations...

My personal favourite however has got to be the 'Do Not Disturb' sequin emblazoned style with a floppy wide brim... 

It doesn't come cheap at £340 on Netaporter but it's a holiday essential in my eyes. Hats off to the genius that is Eugenia Kim!

Fast Frame Fantasy...

I, like the beauty below, have a lot of time & love for sunnies - it might sound girly and silly but they genuinely make things brighter and happier...

Clucking Good : Chick'N'Sours...

Panic over, we're back on track with our blogging schedule...we can only apologise but when sisters are reunited, squeals take over and all hell breaks loose! Not only did we not have a bank of posts stored up, but we also needed a good week of work-gym-bed to recover back to full health!!! 

Anyway...I'm back with a killer review of my new favourite haunt...if only it wasn't against every health rule in the clean and lean book!! 

A few months ago I posted about my wish list of new restaurants I wanted to try from my ever growing little black book, one of which was the fabulous Chick'n'Sours . Well I've finally managed to squeeze in a little trip and wow wow wow, a total party in my mouth...scratch that, make it a rave!!! 

The space is quite small and you can't make a reservation Friday and Saturday, however they'll put your name down and you can trot to The Fox pub a few metres away and build up a healthy appetite - believe me you'll need it! 

It may be small but the decor is super cool...retro white and grey patterned floor tiles, shabby chic wooden tables and chairs, poster wall art, exposed brick, a textured blue ceiling and neon letters on the wall. Not only all that but they also had really fun music in the background, an essential to add the cherry on top for a good atmosphere. We initially sat on the table outside but quickly moved as we felt we were missing out on all the fun within, you definitely need to be amongst the action. As soon as you walk in you're hit by the amazing aroma (amazingly the food manages to taste even better than it smells), the buzz from the upbeat staff and chatter from excited diners tucking in, which all in all makes it a much happier place to be! 

As the name suggests their cocktails revolve around the sour element, however if you're not a fan you can hook yourself up with a beer, wine or the non sour punch (which still sounds pretty awesome!) - Vodka, apple, cucumber, elderflower, lemon, sugar and prosecco. I was tempted as elderflower gets me every time, however in order to get an authentic review for all of you, I pushed outside the norm!! 

I went for the House Sour, Chick'N'Club - gin, sugar, lemon, raspberry and chili vinegar, vermouth and sour. Some elements sounded a little scary but once expertly frothed and shaken, the result = DELISH....sweet, sour and a good kick from the chili! Middle Mouse went for the Paloma Sour - tequila (beware it's heavy on the T), lime juice, honey syrup, grapefruit juice and sour - but got so jealous of mine she ordered a Chick'N'Club as well! 

Top points for drinks but what about the grub....we went for the guest bun of the day - herb fed tenders, hot sauce, kimchi kewpie, cheese and pickled onions, a portion of dripping fries and a side of yam bean slaw with ginger and miso mayo. 

I sounds like a broken record but I can't say anything other than WOW. Crispy tender chicken, a good kick from the hot sauce, sweet and sour from the pickled onions and all tied together with the finger licking good cheese and kimchi kewpie mayo! 

All I can say is if this was my local chicken shop I would be more excited for the end of the night, in fact I would end every night early just so I could pay this beauty an extended visit!!!!
