This super short, four day week has whipped by, and now the weekend's within sipping distance. Hang in there just a little longer, because two days of freedom are glistening on the horizon. And we're here to help you while away those last few desk-bound hours with a quick run down of what we've been up to in the last few days. This week, the Mice have mostly been....
Falling nose over heels for absolutely everything Le Labo after stumbling across the Hong Kong store during a weekend wander.
It's no secret that us Mice are a pack of little beauty magpies. You'll often find us whiling away hour after happy hour foraging for new, sparkly products that promise to make us prettier, glossier, more fragrant versions of ourselves. We particularly love a great perfume though, and we're always on the hunt for something fresh and unusual that doesn't leave us wafting the same notes as every other girl on the Highstreet. So, Le Labo, a boutique collection of beautiful, unusual scents, each handmade in an in-store laboratory, is right up our street.
The Hong Kong store is a tiny little treasure trove stuffed with an array of gorgeous perfumes, scented candles and oils.
Oh, and a line of the most lustworthy fabric detergents ever created. They may retail at approximately ten times the price of any other supermarket washing powder, but one sniff of these babies and we were madly doing some complicated home economics in a bid to work out how we could afford to be clambering between a set of crisp sheets laundered in Le Labo Santal 33 every night...
In the end we came to our senses and after lengthy deliberations, plumped for a super sweet little rollerball tube of Bergamote 22 Liquid Balm Perfume plucked straight from the fridgeful of icy cool fragrances.
Each fragrance is packaged up in a personalised box and labelled with your name or a message (perfect if you're buying a very lucky someone a Le Labo gift).
The lovely instore perfume expert, also loaded us up with a couple of teeny tiny samples, all the better for plotting the next additions to make to our Le Labo collection...
Teetering on the edge of clean eating sabotage. With bikini season (not to mention a wedding) fast approaching, we're doing our utmost to eat well and exercise often. The problem is that temptation seems to lurk around every corner - hello mountains of donuts, oh hi there wall of beckoning chocolate bars. Suddenly, because we know they're off the menu, things we'd never normally even eat become the sole things that we want. To stave off the junk cravings, over the last couple of weeks we've tried out a few 'treats' that fall into the naughty but not terrible camp.
The 100 calorie brownies were an inedible mess and the courgette crisps were an out and out fail, but we've struck on a website which seems to know its stuff when it comes to angelic badness - My Wholefood Life. The recipes are simple, the ingredients aren't impossible to find, and best of all, the results are not only edible but also pretty damn delicious!
The Top treats we've trialled so far?
And the absolutely killer PBJ Chocolate Cups which we made with super scrummy World of Chia Blackberry Jam.
And that's it for another week! All that's left is for us to wish you a very, very...
