Guess what? It's...
And boy, are we ready for the weekend.
A brutal combo of jet-lag and post-holiday, sister-separation blues has made this week pretty hard going. But, in just a few of hours, we'll be trotting out of the office for a couple of days of drinking cocktails with breakfast, lunch and dinner and reading magazines in bed. Bring it on...
Just before we pull on our weekend boots though, we thought we'd give you a quick run-down on what we've been up to for the last seven days, this week the Mice have mostly been...
Fluttering our super-pumped, megastar lashes delivered courtesy of Benefit's Roller Lash mascara. We've been long-time fans of the best-selling, award-winnning Benefit They're Real mascara, to the point that we were pretty disbelieving that Benefit would be able to pull anything new and improved out of the bag. We were wrong.
Roller Lash has a hi-tech brush, based on a hair roller, which has tiny hooks on it to lift and curl your lashes. Sound scary? Just wait til you see the results - thicker, beautifully separated lashes with a killer curl. While we'll still be pulling out They're Real for the evening (based on limited road testing, it seems to give a more dramatic, longer lasting result), we love Roller Lash for opening up our wearing eyes in the mornings.
Marvelling over our miraculously dewy, fresh, clear complexions even after two legs of long haul air travel and some jet-lag interrupted sleep. Ususally post-flight our skin feels dull, grey and simultaneously seems dry and blemished. This trip we decided it was time to try out some new in-flight beauty boosts and as luck would have it, we struck gold on the very first try... Step up...
Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate
£36
How have we never got round to trying this before? We've heard beauty mavens whispering about this one for years, but we only finally snapped ours up while doing a Kiehl's haul in New York.
If you're also late to the game, this is literally sleep in a bottle. Slather it on at night before bed or, if you're on a plane, apply it generously whenever your skin begins to feel parched. After just one week (and two in-flight applications) of using this game changer, our skin feels softer and looks more radiant and if the rave reviews are to be believed, as we continue to use it, things are only going to get better. This is real miracle-working stuff - if you haven't tried it yet, get your paws on a bottle pronto.
Mac Bulk Wipes
£20
We picked this jumbo pack of face wipes up on a whim at the airport after we realised that we'd forgotten to pack cleanser to take our make-up off on the plane. Although we tend to think that face wipes don't do a proper cleanse, these bad boys dissolve every trace of foundation, mascara and eyeshadow in just a single swipe. Bonus points for the gorgeous scent and the simple, sleek packaging.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir
£8.74 (30 ml)
We've recently fallen hard for anything and everything Caudalie, so when we spied this mini bottle of the Beauty Elixir at the Sephora tills we'd snapped it up quicker than you can say 'Victoria Beckham's Secret Weapon'. Ideal for a mid-flight refreshing pick-me-up, or spritz it over make-up for a dewy finishing touch.
Wearing our hearts on a chain around our necks after HK Mouse repurchased her Ginette NY sister necklace from Saks Fifth Avenue during an NYC spree! Six years ago, just before zipping off to Hong Kong, HK Mouse bought three of these necklaces and we dubbed them the 'sister necklaces', a little like the grown-up version of those Forever Friends broken hearts necklaces we all had as kids. Unfortunately, the chains are super delicate and we're all a little clumsy which meant that within a couple of years all but Mini Mouse's was broken. Zoom forward a few years, we're all together shopping up a storm in Saks, and it just seemed like the perfect time to get sister necklace mark II! This time HK Mouse went for the rose gold which sort of justifies buying the same necklace twice...
Mini Heart on Chain
€330
And that's that for another week you lovely lot. We'll leave you with a couple of wise words to live by this weekend...
Lots of Friday love
x
The Mice
