This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

Can we get a...

...there are just a handful of hours until the weekend kicks off and if that isn't a reason to be happy, then we don't know what is! Oh, how about pay day...?! Is there any pay day sweeter than the one that brings an end to cold, miserable, broke January?

So, let's just say that this weekend looks set to be a good one. While we're waiting for it to get started, how about a canter through the week just gone by in Mouseland (with a little bit of pay day spending inspo thrown in for good measure)?! This week the Mice have mostly been...

Falling off the wagon in a spectacular manner at Laneway music festival in Singapore. It all started on Friday evening with a post-work pizza and glass of wine at the airport, which very quickly tumbled into a boozy plane ride...

Groggy and beyond snoozy, we finally arrived at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia at around about 2am, at which point we collapsed into our beds and after spending a couple of minutes marvelling at how awesomely super squishy they were, fell into deep, snorey slumbers.

Black-out curtains doing a stellar job, we eventually managed to shake ourselves out of those marshmallowy beds at midday, just in time to take a soak in the bath...

... and get ourselves to brunch at Wild Honey for a couple of rounds of hellishly great Bloody Marys...

...and the sort of calorific deliciousness that will get you set you up for a night of far too much fun (this was panettone french toast with baby bananas, salted caramel mascarpone, toffee'd hazelnuts and salted caramel sauce - very much not on the New Year healthy eating plan, but so incredibly delicious that it was worth every last calorie...)

Post-brunch, we rolled ourselves around a couple of shops before hotting up the Gardens by the Bay for an afternoon of boozing in the sun with Angus & Julia Stone tripping along in the background (complete with a little one-handed trumpet solo from Julia...).

Then it was time to hot the Stoli tent hard, cue a slew of festi selfies...

A quick pit-stop for a flower crown later, and we were standing in the middle of a crowd of tipsy, happy people dancing to Banks.

My last memory of the night looks something like this...

So it wasn't a huge surprise when we woke up the next morning feeling a little worse for wear. Luckily, someone came up with the wholly excellent plan of hitting Tajong Beach Club for some serious sunbed action accessorised with a round or three of Bellinis.

When hometime rolled around, we very reluctantly dragged our sorry selves back to the airport declaring it the very best weekend of the year so far and already hatching plans for Laneway 2016...

Frittering away January's pay check before it's even hit our accounts on a serious injection of winter sunshine courtesy of Tularosa. Laneway not only had us dreaming of sunny, summer, music-soaked days, but also got us pining for festival fashion of the boho floaty variety. So, when a Monday browse through our Instagram feed lead us to a brand new fash find, we were flexing our Credit Cards faster than you can say 'pay day'. Sold exclusively on Revolve Clothing, Tularosa is a label made for Gypset girls and is surprisingly easy on the wallet. Our wishlist is frankly out of control, but top of the current lust haves...

Love, Love, Loving the brand new track from the slightly unlikely trio of Paul McCartney, Rihanna & Kanye West. Pretty much the perfect tune to get you through a slow Friday afternoon...

And on that note, we think that's about it for another week! All that's left is for us to do is to wish you a very, very...

Have a super duper weekend!

Fashion Fix: Grace MMXiii

It's Humpday and as Mini mouse rightly pointed out earlier on in the week, it's SO nearly pay day... in my book, that calls for a shopping spree celebration!

I was mooching around Selfridges the other day, longingly looking at all the beautiful clothes my credit card just won't allow and I stumbled across a gorgeous brand I've never heard of before - Grace MMXiii. On first impressions, in my mind, a cross between Self-Portrait and Helmut Lung. There was only a small selection of goodies hanging in Selfridges so I made a note to check it out online in full over a bottle of something bubbly at home!

So without further a do here's my run down...

Launched in 2014, so we're not too late to the party on this one but quite how did we miss the intoxicatingly hot Rosie Huntington-Whiteley rocking the opening look during a secret fashion show at London Fashion Week...
The new brand comes from Jens Grade and Erik Torstensson, co-founders of The Saturday Group and Frame Denim and is all about clean lines, sexy off the shoulder LBDs, lace meshing and tuxedo-chic. The duo peg their style as 'girl going out look' - cute, flirty and no fuss. Where the designs lack tons of detail, the high quality fabrics more than make up.

I've been eyeing up the following three
killer numbers - now I just need to be invited to the perfect occasion to take the graceful plunge...
Adrianna macrame lace mini dress from Netaporter : £285

Annie faux leather-trimmed satin mini dress from Netaporter : £305

Addison organza-trimmed satin-twill mini dress from Netaporter : £265

One word : Heavenly!

Awesome Arm Candy...

January is very nearly over which means we've made it through the most depressing month...yipeee! Hopefully your Christmas debt has been cleared, any idea of an alcohol ban is long forgotten and you have at least one holiday booked and in the diary! Which all makes for very happy February campers!

As pay day is just around the corner and we have all the above to celebrate...I think a little treat is in order! There's nothing quite as smug-making as a 'me' present that you've convinced yourself you can no longer live without...scratch that if it comes from some handsome man as a surprise that's definitely way more satisfying, but we'll settle for either!

For me I'm currently dying to stack my wrist with mismatched bracelets of all shapes, gems and sizes! I'm picturing an end result something a bit like this...

Swooooooooon!!

Middle Mouse got me started with a gorgeous Eddie Borgo gold cone bracelet for Christmas which triggered me to snap up the slightly chunkier silver version in the Net-a-Porter sale. I've since got a plain & Other Stories silver and cord bangle and am eagerly awaiting another few to join my collection...looks slightly lonely in comparison to those above, I must get shopping QUICK!

My current magpie bling eye is loving these beauties....

This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

Listen up, it's only the...

So the big question ... what have we been up to this week? Well we've mostly been bloody frio, blocking out the cold with as much cashmere as we can get our mits on! When our teeth haven't been chattering, we've been exercising it up at the gym or bikini fitting it, working our little socks off to shed as much of the festive chocolate and bread sauce as possible! With Dubai for the London mice fast approaching, we have just 6 weeks to turn our bodies into Rosie Huntington Whiteley doubles!

We have also managed to fit some fun and retail therapy in mind. With out further ado, This Week The Mice Have Mostly Been...

Blinging the everyday up with our latest jewellery label obsessions, Melanie Auld and Lucky Eyes. After being dazzled daily by diamond encrusted Instagram posts, I just had to grab myself a piece of the gold plated action…

Over Christmas I went a bit credit card coo coo and snapped up five rings and in a mixture of gold and rose gold. A tad over the top I admit it but believe me when I say that was me curbing my spending, as there are so many oh-so-pretty designs to choose from. Here's me modelling the beauties…

First up Mealnie Auld rings:

And Lucky Eyes:

Frustratingly, Melanie Auld is an Aussie brand so the bulk of the range you can only buy online which comes with the added annoyance of being stung import tax - grrrrrrrrr! Fenwicks does however stock a limited few styles on Bond Street so worth checking out. Lucky Eyes is London based – hooray – and is also stocked in Fenwicks, so kill two birds with one stone and head there first.

Treating my skin to an extra dose of moisture this dry January with Le Couvent des Minims’ new loving care body balm (£13) and Melvita’s face care oil Argan+ (£32). After a hectic day at work and battling for a space on a packed tube full of commuters, the first thing I want to do when I close my flat door is get into comfy clothes, take every scrap of make-up off my face and slather on lotions and potions to make me feel semi-human again! Both of the following products tick that box...

Melvita’s product is a great night time oil – giving it enough time to sink in and work its magic is key! Packed full of fatty acids, it works hard to improve the skins natural moisture barrier leaving my face feeling silky smooth and super hydrated. It smells super gorgeous too...

Le Couvent des Minims all over body balm also feels insanely nourishing and for sensitive souls with sensitive skin apparently this is the best of the best as it soothes as well...

Being social Little Social style with mini and honorary mouse, Kitty. I've been wanting to check out Little Social and her big sister, Pollen Street Social for some time now so what better opportunity than a lazy Saturday afternoon. I needed to psych myself up on the money front before trialling the super swish Pollen Street so Little Social it was.

We'd heard about the uber reasonable 2 or 3 course set menu at £21 / £24 so we all went for that, opting for the same starter and main! So first up, a creamy pumpkin soup, slow-cooked egg, pepper cured bacon, parmesan, wild mushrooms and crunchy croutons to start. We all loved the drama the dish bought with it! We were firstly presented with a deep white bowl cradling a ridiculously orange egg yolk, bacon bits, mushrooms and croutons…

A different waiter then swooped in with a silver sauce boat and slowly transferred it’s pumpkin goodness contents in circular movements so not to cover up the eggy inner heart of the dish…

One word – D-I-V-I-N-E!

And for main we ordered up a beasting great aged Scottish beef burger with bacon, cheese, caramelised onions, pickles and chips…

Again really tasty but the starter definitely had the edge – the burger was good and cooked perfectly pink but how does the saying go … ‘call a spade a spade’ or ‘a burger a burger’ … a chef really can’t go far wrong when it comes to whipping one up can they?!

All of that talk has made me ravenous for ... the weekend! Have a good one you gorgeous lot.

Lots of love

The Mice
