Well, hello there you lovely lot! It's so nearly time to shut down your computer for the weekend and usher in a couple of days of lazy lie-ins and boozy brunches. In fact...
... not least of all that it's FRIDAYYYY! While you're waiting for cocktail o'clock to strike, grab a cup of coffee (Starbucks red cups are back, so if you haven't had a Christmas coffee yet, today's definitely the day) and settle in for a quick jog through all that's new and notable in Mouseland. This week the Mice have mostly been...
If you're generally incapable of keeping even the hardiest houseplant alive, these Diptyque cacti are the answer to all your home greenery prayers. Beyond simple to pot and practically impossible to kill.
You will need:
- Three old candle jars
- Three cacti (we bagged ours at the flower market in Hong Kong)
- A few handfuls of earth
Clean any last scraps of wax out of your candle jars and give them a good wash with hot, soapy water.
Grab your cacti - we like an assortment of wild and wonderful ones - and gently ease them out of their pots.
Nestle each cactus in its own jar and fill around the edges with the soil.
Pop on a shelf, water them weekly and generally feel like a crafty domestic goddess whenever you catch sight of them!
We joined Tamara and a crew of Hong Kong's party people for free-flowing Veuve Clicquot and plenty of hair chat around the pool the W Hotel's Wet Deck. As we hopped in the lift and zoomed up 76 floors we caught our first glimpse of the evening's guest of honour and then promptly walked all over her (well she was plastered across the floor...)
Up at pool level we grabbed an orange flute of Veuve and got mingling, snacking on teeny wagyu burgers and a whole host of other scrumptious nibbles.
Then in a flash of pap bulbs, Tamara arrived looking gorgeous in a cutaway little black dress topped off with some seriously great hair (naturally).
Within moments she'd nabbed HK Mouse's boyfriend and the pair of them posed for the snappers. Luckily Tamara had Champagne to drink and people to see, so with a swish of that fabulous fishtail braid she was gone, leaving HK Mouse to reclaim her man, grab a goody bag and hightail in out of there.
The goody bags were seriously good(y), stuffed with a whole host of full-sized products. We'll be putting them through their paces over the next couple of weeks and will be sure to report back shortly on whether they deliver Ecclestone-esque tresses. Here's hoping...
Dancing at our desks to Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk, which seems a pretty fitting way to kick-off your Friday evening...
Have a great one and we'll see you on Monday!
