We were invited to the Covent Garden store one sunny afternoon, so Mini Mouse and I arrived feeling suitable summery - here's a snap to prove London does see sunshine once in a while...
As soon as we walked in our thirsts were quenched by the choice of a delicious Brazilian cherry pop or a tropical oh-so-fruity juice - we greedily took both!
We were then taken through the products and given background on how this range was originally born. With a light and fruity fragrance, this body and sun care collection was lovingly created with hot temperatures in mind. Interestingly, in Brazil, this collection makes up the entire product range in L'Occitane stores. Due to import taxes, the distinctly French scope of products we know and love are too costly for the Brazilians and so the founder, Olivier Baussan created a standalone collection just for Brazil using locally sourced ingredients - Jenipapo, a citrus tree and Vitória Régia, a water lily.
The Vitória Régia products (which translates as 'queen of the waters') are split into two - a day range and a night range. This actually mirrors the flower itself, which has a split day/night personality. During the day it's closed and asleep to protect its beautiful petals from the sun, and then at night it comes alive and blooms releasing a sweet fragrance. Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and for this flower, it's sooner rather than later, as it only lives for one day and night before fading away - sob!
The Jenipapo collection is made using ingredients from its namesake fruit tree. The products boast notes of citrus, watermelon and my favourite pina colada -this one smells good enough to eat!
We were also treated to a pair of vibrant colour-popping flip flops and super sweet Brazilian wish friendship bracelets ... gorgeous!
The L'Occitane Au Bresil collection is on sale in-store and online now but be quick because the range is limited edition and I have a feeling stocks are going to sell out fast...!
