On the 3BM iPod: Poolside Playlist...

A key part of holiday prep for us Mice includes putting together the best poolside playlists! The London Mice are currently off on a chilled sun session filled with BBQs, sleeping, sunbathing, Pimms and G&T's. Before we jetted off, between bikini shopping and pedicures, we've been carefully compiling a few killer playlists to trip along in the background to all of the above!

Everyone has to have a feel good playlist, one to play whilst getting ready for the evening after a hard day's tanning - this needs to be musical Prozac, making you feel on top of the world and so happy to be where you are! However the most important playlist of all is the chilled soundtrack to be put on at about 6pm just as the sun's setting and the heat's cooling A.K.A. ideal nap time. What could be better than drifting in and out of slumber to your favourite tracks? For me, there's no better time of the day, here's what we'll be listening to...

Banks - Warm Water...

James Blake - live performance of Retrograde...

Mixed cover by Bastille Feat Ella - No Angels...

Ms Mr - Fantasy...

Pretty Lights - Finally Moving...

Florence & The Machine - cover of Take Care...

Goldroom - Sweetness Alive...

Chvrches - Gun...

No Diggity - Chet Faker...

Little Dragon - Sunshine...

The XX - Angels...

Angus and Julia Stone - Big Jet Plane...

Mousy Birthday Mini!

It's the teeniest Mouse's Birthday!

She's sure to be having a Pimms or six today, in fact, as she's currently mid-hols, we're willing to bet that there'll be Pimms for breakfast...

We can't quite believe that a whole twelve months have shot by since our very first 3BM Birthday post, but it's certainly been a super fun year crammed full of mischief, mayhem and Mice adventures all fuelled by far too many cocktails...

There's been some country bumpkin fun...

A little jaunt to Paris...

A spot of safari & sunning in Sri Lanka

And a couple of hops over to Portugal for Partying & Pimms...

It was also the year that Mini Mouse really made it...

No, we're not talking about her moment collecting our Cosmo Blog Award with Middle Mouse...

Or any special recognition that she's received for her incredible calculator skills (despite the fact that they're legendary and she really deserves several medals...)

In fact, it was the year that Mini Mouse got her very own Mini Me... You know you've hit the big time when people start copying your look. And when fashion royalty jump on the bandwagon and start to channel you, well what can we say...We think Aila Wang's topknot does all the talking....

Happy, Happy Birthday Mini Mouse! You're the very best baby sister that anyone could ever ask for. We hope that today is full of Champagne, cake and ridiculously amazing presents and that the next year is even more incredible than the last (we're sure that it will be!).

With all our love,

Daylesford Alfresco Dining...

This year we've been blessed with a Summer - at long last - so come the weekend it's all about alfresco dining, fruit loaded Pimms, flip flops and sunshine filled walks. A few weekends ago I decided to make the most of the blistering heat and ventured West which I don't often do when the weekend rolls round. I work West, so that's my week-day neck of the woods, but I thought I'd make an exception this one time. First stop - Portobello Road. A road like no other - people watching, market stall snooping and pastel-hued houses lined up in rows...

After an hour of browsing and wandering some much need lunch was in order so next stop - the Daylesford

A popular spot packed full of sloany types, yummy mummies and ladies that like to lunch. With only a few tables outside, we were up against some seriously fierce competition but after a quiet yet stern word with the waitress we were in! Daylesford's slogan is 'straight from the farm to the fork' and this kind of sums up the place - an organic farm shop come restaurant complete with hay bales, perfectly formed row upon row of OCD-esque lined-up fruit all finished off with a dash of designy pzazz.

We settled down at our table for an afternoon of good food and booze. The outside of Daylesford is just as charming as the inside - white wash exterior and cutesy awnings all topped off with a patriotic red, blue and white flag...

We were also treated to some eye candy in the form of a shiny, blue and perfectly formed sports car parked up right besides us...

The food on offer was pretty special too - we opted for smoked salmon with all the colourful trimmings and Angus corned beef hash, fried hen's egg with homemade brown sauce all washed down with an icy cold bottle of white wine...

For dessert we ordered the king of all puds in my opinion - Eton Mess. I can safely say that this one blew my mind - every mouthful was accompanied by wows and oh my Gods...

And here we are sitting back, relaxing and enjoying the food and surrounding atmosphere. Magic...

This Week the Mice have Mostly Been...

What a difference a week makes! Just seven little days ago all three Mice were sitting in Daddy Mouse's garden devouring a BBQ and a bottle of wine (or six) and George Alexander Louis was still snoozing in Kate's tummy... Fast forward a week and His Royal Babyness has made his very first public appearance and once again us Mice are scattered across the globe. Sob, sob, sigh...

Except I think I'm actually the only Mouse weeping into my pillow. Middle and Mini packed their bikinis and zipped off to Portugal on Wednesday and have been Whatsapp'ing photos of pools and Pimms ever since. Just what I love to see when the rain is hammering down incessantly outside my window here in Hong Kong...

Rain and holiday envy aside, this week the Mice have mostly been...

Toasting Cambridge Junior following the news that William & Kate's first son, HRH Prince George, has finally arrived!

I was super excited at the prospect of being in London when the mini heir was born but rather typically he waited until pretty much the moment I stepped onto the plane back to Hong Kong to make an appearance. Not impressed George... You have however slightly redeemed yourself by inspiring shops and businesses everywhere to offer special Royal Baby offers. Within minutes of the announcement my inbox was overflowing with discount codes and giveaways - you have to admire a kid who has the tills ringing before he's even drawn his first breath.

It's estimated that the newest Royal will spark a £243 million spending spree as his adoring subjects-to-be fall over themselves to scoop up souvenirs and keepsakes to commemorate his birth. Us Mice are partial to a bit of monarchy love, so here's our round-up of our top Prince George buys...

Overhauling my Beauty Bag with a drop of Cult Beauty goodies. For anyone who hasn't discovered this genius website yet, hop over there pronto for a carefully curated selection of cosmetics, skincare and general prettifying stuff from around the world. I ordered my first batch of beauty booty on the back of India Knight's brilliant Sunday Times Style column. I blogged a little while ago about how the very same column inspired me to buy my Clarisonic (which I absolutely love) so I'm now bordering a little on the obsessive when it comes to India's recommendations...

At least I have a new excuse when all my internet shopping packages arrive - "India told me to"...

My Sunday Times inspired haul included a Sunday Riley cleanser and skin serum, a Lipstick Queen sheer berry lipstick and a couple of samples of the Jouer tinted moisturisers. I found the tinted moisturisers a bit too orange for my skin but I am head over heels with all the other products. The Sunday Riley skincare has my face looking as smooth as George's bottom and having decided that red lipstick wasn't for me, I've done a complete one eighty and now wear Lipstick Queen's Medieval non-stop. Here's how to get your mitts on glowy skin and just bitten lips.

Book Worming my way through Where'd You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple. I've been meaning to read this book for ages but for some reason or another haven't quite got round to it. A story about an agoraphobic, ex-architect planning a trip to Antarctica with her high-achieving daughter might not sound like a thrilling read, but this is a total page turner that'll have you sniggering into your bookmark. I flew through it and was up until 2am last night finishing it... A complete peach of a beach read!

And that's it for another week!

Happy, happy weekend, hope it's a great one!
