Heiress v Penniless: Studded Boots

We first fell for them back in 2008.  The buckles, the studs, the cool, insouciant slouchyness, total boot perfection - the Chloe Susan.  But it seemed that we weren't the only ones that loved them, before we could even consider selling our organs to finance them, they were completely sold out everywhere and so we resigned ourselves to another piece to add to the should-have-bought list.  And all our biggest style crushes wouldn't let us forget it...

But late last year Chloe announced that they were relaunching the Susans for SS12 with a slightly altered moniker - 2012's must-have boot was the Susanna... Identical in all but name, we yet again began our complex calculations to work out how we could afford these pieces of perfection.

And yet again before we'd even started tapping away at our calculators, Net-a-Porter and My Theresa had sold out... Yet again visions of denim cut-offs and slouchy t-shirts magically transformed into the perfect summer outfit by the Susannas were dashed... And quite aside from that, who has a spare £1,000 to spend on boots in summer?  Not us unfortunately.  If you do, BarneysLane Crawford and Neiman Marcus still have stock.  If not though, we've rounded up a couple of pairs of boots that aren't a million miles away from the Susanna for a snip of the price - louche boot fabulousness this way...
