This Week the Mice have Mostly Been...

Another week, a new month and we're seriously hoping that it won't be long now until spring hits...

This week the Middle and Baby Mice have been doing yet more travelling (Spain & Turkey) this time for work.  Meanwhile, over in Hong Kong, I've been stuck in the cold and the fog - this is not what I signed up for...

So dreaming of blue skies and sunshine aside, this week I've mostly been:

Gossiping about the who wore what to the Oscars.  Who cares about who the awards went to?  We're far more interested in what Viola Davis was thinking when she went for that green number and how incredible Kate Bosworth looked in Prabal Gurung at the Vanity Fair Party.  We've also loved the post-Oscars goss.  Did the fabled J Lo nip slip actually take place?  And are you following Angelina Jolie's attention seeking right leg on Twitter (44,573 followers as I press publish post...)?

Eating cupcakes in honour of Christian Louboutin's 20th Birthday.  I'm wearing my eye-wateringly expensive Loubi boots today (I will get that cost per wear down if it kills me...) and I'm desperately wishing that I could get my hands on a pair of red-soled beauties from the CL 20th anniversary capsule collection.  Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for all you lucky Londoners, the twenty piece collection (a pair for each year) is available exclusively from the Selfridges Concept Store on Oxford Street.  The pop-up shop which launched on 27 February and is open until 1 April also sells the Louboutin spring/summer 2012 collection and the concept store has been completely redesigned by the shoe genius himself.

So get down there pronto, and pick up a pair or two.  Louboutins are an investment and these are limited edition, it makes total shoeconomic sense...

Drooling over the incredible pieces that were paraded down the Milan catwalks.  Milan Fashion Week drew to a close on Monday and we're now onto the last leg, Paris.  Milan saw an abundance of black (Gucci, Fendi, Pucci, Bottega Veneta, Versace), geometric clashing-coloured prints (Prada, Versus), leopard print (Blumarine, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana) and military influences (Moschino, Max Mara, Salvatore Ferragamo).

For us though, MFW means, Dolce & Gabbana and the boys didn't disappoint.  We loved.  There were capes (short, long, velvet, sheer, ruffled, appliqued, they were all there), there was black with opulent, gold, baroque embroidery and of course there was lots of signature Dolce lace and corsets.  Just gorgeous.

Indulging in snuggly nights in accompanied by lots of tea and happy/ old-school films.  This week's viewing has included: Happy Feet, Cocktail and Up (Up had me in floods of tears but I loved it).

Nights in mean super comfy loungey clothes.  My top tip for beautiful loungerie is Plum Pretty Sugar.  I first stumbled across this site just after I'd moved to Hong Kong in 2009.  I'd been obsessed with finding a kimono like the beaded floral one that Carrie wears in one of the early Sex and the City episodes but had never found anything even vaguely similar.  When I found Plum Pretty Sugar, I immediately snapped up one of their silk kimono robes and at the time, because the company was brand new, waited three months for my purchase to be made and delivered.  It was well worth the wait, three years on, I still love my robe made of the softest, most lightweight silk.  It keeps me cool in the summer and warm in the winter and with its pretty floral print, it makes me feel a bit less slobby on my snuggly nights in.

Plum Pretty Sugar deliver internationally and have a range of other lounge wear including pyjama bottoms and tunics (which could just as easily be worn poolside chucked over a bikini for lunch or cocktails).  I also love the bridesmaids sets that they do - if you're getting married this summer, this is a gift for your bridesmaids that's a bit unusual and something practical that you can all use when you're getting ready for the ceremony as well as long after the big day.

Madly researching holiday options for Easter.  Why do I always leave everything until the last minute?!  After hours and hours on Tripadvisor I think I've finally settled on a plan.  Cebu (an island in the Philippines) in T minus 29 days.  Hooray!  Now I just need to stop eating and strap myself to the treadmill... We're flying Cebu Pacific and oddly I'm particularly looking forward to the safety demonstration that the air hostesses do before take-off.  I'll leave you with a little video to show you why...

Happy Friday - its SO almost the weekend!
