Mary Katrantzou for Topshop - Two More Sleeps...

Can't afford cutting-edge designer clothes?  Ummm yes you Katrantzou...
(I'm actually killing myself with these awful puns - I apologise).

There is nothing better than an exciting designer/high street collaboration.  H&M have had some fab ones since they started collaborating with designers in 2004 to produce limited edition capsule collections.  Over the last few years the Mice have added Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Jimmy Choo and Versace to our wardrobes courtesy of our favourite Swedes and we're thoroughly overexcited about snapping up some Marni amazingness in March.

But one exciting day in late October last year we got word of the collaboration to top all previous collaborations.  Topshop and print goddess, Mary Katrantzou.  Since then, we've lapped up leaked images of the collection and counted down the days until the launch (which is marked in our diaries in huge red letters).  And that day is now only two little sleeps away.  At 9am (GMT) on Friday we can all get our mitts on some Mary K for from as little as just £40.  And for those of us not lucky enough to live within shopping distance of a Topshop store (how I miss the days when Oxford Circus was just a fifteen minute tube ride away...), the collection is available from the Topshop website.

The Greek designer has gone from strength to strength this year picking up a host of new global stockists, showing a standout collection of floral brights for s/s 12 and bagging the Emerging Talent Award at the British Fashion Awards in November.  Celebrities love her with everyone from Keira Knightley to Alexa Chung to Anna Dello Russo sporting her creations.  But with price tags running into five figures, Mary K has always been a little out of our price range until now...

Our favourite piece in the collection is apparently also Mary's favourite, the bowl-skirted Pheasant Dream dress which retails at £350.  Poppy Delevingne wore the dress to the Elle Style Awards on Monday night and looked incredible.  The dress is not only the highest priced in the collection but is also very limited edition - we're sharpening our elbows as we type...

We forsee some serious fights, injuries and ebay wars surrounding this launch.  If you live near a store carrying the range and have some holiday left get down there early, join the inevitably endless queue and grab as much as you are can when the doors open!  Otherwise set your alarm (or if like me you're in Hong Kong, put a VERY important meeting in your Outlook calendar and escape to a meeting room with your laptop...) and get your mouse at the ready for 9am.  See you at the checkout...
